Around 2557, an ex spartan named Rook-R291 created Black Delta. Black Delta is a rebel strike group in which the primary armour colors are black and red. The group was created for quick and fast search and destroy operations. One operation in particular, Operation Iron Fist, played an important role in the history of Black Delta.

Operation: Iron Fist
On October 19, 2558, Black Delta carried out an important mission on a ONI base. The objective was to capture Information on UNSC warehouses, shipyards, factories, armories, and battle plans. One major reason could have turned the tide of the war. UNSC scientists were working on a new type of battle suit. The battle suit stood 13 feet tall and used titanium armour about 2cm thick. The rebels goal was to capture it before it was put on the feild to stop the rebels. Unfortunately, the suit was destroyed by the UNSC so the rebels could not get it. Since they could not reach their major goal, they returned with the plans, locations, etc. Black Delta's next target was a UNSC research and development factory in which another super weapon was stored.
